Zak Lyons
Co-Founder & Chief Technical Officer, Anchorpoint
Zak Lyons is an Austin-born engineer and product developer with deep experience building AI-enabled systems for real-world, high-pressure environments. Over his career, he has led technical development across multiple HealthTech and operational platforms, specializing in translating messy workflows into clean, intuitive software. He’s known for his ability to move fast, architect scalable systems, and bring clarity to processes that desperately need it.
Before co-founding AnchorPoint, Zak was a full-stack developer at Jaspr Health, working directly under Dr. Linda Dimeff, a nationally recognized expert in behavioral psychology and digital delivery of evidence-based suicide prevention. At Jaspr, he helped build and refine Jaspr-ED — a clinical, tablet-based intervention designed to stabilize acute suicide crises. Working inside this research-driven environment, and under leadership trained by Marsha Linehan herself, Zak gained hands-on experience with high-stakes behavioral health tools and the rigor required to deploy them in clinical settings.
Zak’s connection to the recovery space is both practical and personal. His own season of addiction and return to stability gives him a grounded perspective on what actually works inside inpatient environments. He understands firsthand how modern tools can make the work smoother, clearer, and more humane.
Outside of engineering, Zak is a devoted father and proud seventh-generation Texan. He builds furniture through his woodworking hobby as well as custom art pieces, plays drums in the band Law By The Gun, and spends as much time as possible with his children, Penny and Luke.
